Government Policies - A debate pro govt

Dear Sir,

This is Harsh, your student.

This is following today's discussion in the class about how government is almost always in a fix with respect to the policies it has to make, even if it has the best intentions of the people in mind.

The problem arises because in a country as diverse as India, there are always opposing requirements among its people at any given time. Due to limited resources, the govt has to take the middle path in order to pacify the people. This leads to slow down of progress, if at all any.

In a country like India, or any country for that matter, the solution for any widespread problem has to come from the people only. Only when people realize that large scale development requires some discomforts on smaller scales and agree to put up with it for the greater good can such a change be brought about. No government policy can bring about such a change.

A country is only as good as its people. However good/far sighted the government may be, if the people are not on the same page, it will not work. The problem can only be solved if a large section of people can keep the greater good ahead of their own interests. It has happened before in India - during the freedom struggle. Our country needs another such revolution. Only this time the enemy would be within. If and when a leader emerges who can make people keep the larger interests above their personal interests, such a leader can bring about the change that we are all looking for.

Harsh

Dear Anil, It happens with every student who starts preparation..
they tend to forget and are not able to recollect.  bcoz the content is vast
which u hv studied in the one full year..

go by current issues.. read as much as you can.. do not pressurise urself..
keep a schedule of 4-6 hours of study.. start with current affairs and see
what you have written for that topic in your notes..
read, recollect and think on the subject

.. if you have clarity about the topic then u can start with the next topic..
do exercise for 15 mins morning and 15 mins evening and go for a small
walk of 15 mins.. relax and study..
 my best wishes with you

GOOD OF EACH AND EVERY STUDENT, CONSTANT SUPPORT, MENTORING AND GUIDANCE OF ALL THOSE STUDENTS WHO PREPARE FOR THE COMPETITIVE EXAMINATIONS LIKE INDIAN CIVIL SERVICES OR STATE GROUP I SERVICES

IF 6000 STUDENTS STUDY IN THE STUDY CIRCLES AND 25 RANKS ARE SECURED WE HAIL THOSE RANKERS AND THEN FORGET ALL THOSE 5975 STUDENTS WHO HAVE SIMILAR ASPIRATIONS AND DREAMS.. THEY ARE LEFT IN THE COLD OR SHOULD RUN FROM POST TO PILLAR AND JOIN OTHER ACADEMIES/STUDY CIRLCLES..   WHY SO??

WHY CANT WE RETRAIN THEM AND OFFER THEM THE COACHING, MENTORING, GUIDANCE, CURRENT UPDATES AGAIN, ENABLE THEM TO STAND UP AND FACE THE BATTLE..   DIDNT THE COACHING CENTRES TAKE THE FEE ??

ISNT IT A MORAL AND ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITY TO SUPPORT THOSE STUDENTS WHO WERE OUR OWN.. ??

TIME TO ASK QUESTIONS AND REMIND ALL THOSE WHO JUST MAKE MONEY AND FORGET THEIR BASIC HUMAN QUALITY OF SUPPORT TO THE STUDENTS..

TEACHING VALUES AND RESPECT TO THE TEACHERS/ FACULTY/STUDY CIRCLES COME FROM OUR OWN  BEHAVIOUR AND CARE TAKEN OF THE STUDENTS..

ARE WE THE STUDY CIRCLES/ ACADEMIES / TEACHING AND ACADEMIC FRATERNITY BECOMING SOME KIND OF BUSINESS TYCOONS,  MIDDLEMEN,  HARD CORE TRADE DEALERS OR SOME SORT POLITICAL OPPORTUNISTS WHO SQUEEZE MONEY/RESOURCE/VOTE AND THEN DONT SHOW THE SAME AFFECTION AS BEFORE THE DEAL OR ELECTIONS????????

TIME TO ASK QUESTIONS AND TIME TO ANSWER THE STUDENT COMMUNITY ...

IF WE BUILD OUR OWN GOOD VALUE SYSTEM THEN THE STUDENTS WHO LATER BECOME OFFICERS WOULD TAKE THOSE GOOD VALUES INTO THE ADMINISTRATIVE SYSTEM AND SERVE THE NATION, ITS PEOPLE AND THE EARTH
I STRONGLY SUPPORT A GOOD ETHICS BASED EDUCATION SYSTEM.

THE TOP ORDER ACADEMIES IN INDIA HAVE EARNED ENOUGH ...
HUNDRED OR THOUSANDS OF CRORES AND  NOW IS THE TIME TO GIVE BACK TO SOCIETY.. TOO MUCH SQUEEZING  MAKES THE SOCIETY  POORER... SO GIVE BETTERMENT CHANCE TO  THOSE STUDENTS FROM WHOM WE EARNED SO MUCH

OTHERWISE THE VALUE,  GOOD WILL AND RESPECT LATE RAO SIR BROUGHT TO CIVIL SERVICES WILL VANISH AND WE WILL BE CALLED PETTY PEOPLE WITHOUT ANY PURPOSE IN LIFE...

MAY GOOD SENSE PREVAIL... AMEN..

CYCLONE/HURRICANE/TYPHOON/WILLY WILLY

QUESTION

Hello Sir,

With hurricane Sandy approaching catastrophe status, what important articles would you recommend regarding the same? Similar situations in India? Hoping for a blog entry at your end around the same :)

-- S.V, Hyd --

Answer

CYCLONE; GENESIS; EFFECTS; MITIGATION/EVACUATION MEASURES; CATEGORIES AND ASSOCIATED WIND SPEEDS; NAMING CONVENTION;

can be learnt about cyclones; compare and contrast Tropical and Temperate

Cyclones can be additionaly read..

In the recent mains a general studies question was asked on how you would react and treat a person affected by sunstroke?

similarly a probable question would be how administration can gear up and direct the citizens to evacuate and what mitigation/rescue measures can be taken up?

QUESTION

Hello Sir,

What is a post tropical cyclone?
What are the reasons for Sandy storm in America and Neelam In Bay of Bengal?

-SriRama Chakradhar-

ANSWER

Dear Chakri,

Usually Cyclones are circular wind/water movements due
to the high temp causing low pressure into which winds ferociously
move... causing whirl/gyres..

they are tropical phenomenon as high temp is in -gen in tropics not
temperate latitudes...

wen it crosses tropics 23 and 1/2 degrees lats we say post tropical..
