a conversation with one of our friends.....
i thought may be useful for anyone struggling with the prep...
student: im not able to prepare the way i should...
I mean how to make time in preparation??
should i compelte each subject or should i do all the subjects at a time daily
me: how much spare time do you have apart from your activities??
then question what is very important task/work for you...
student: sir i can spend 6 to 8 hrs in preparing
me: give importance to those subs which u think have been done less so far...
..... prioritise...
prioritise... that will reduce some unwanted areas...
Student: okk sir but i just want to know... is is good to prepare each subject at once
or all together by keeping time for each subject like 2hr a day
me: how many subs do u hv to study in all? (pending)
stdnt: apart from csat... im left with geo, histry, polity, economics, CA (current affairs)
me: so 7 areas in P-2 +
5 in P-1
...
stdnt : ya sir...
...
...
me: so keep 6 days schedule with 3-4 areas to be done for 3 alternate days and @ 2 hours each sub ...
student: ok so u r saying to study 2hr a subject??
i was very much confused wiwth this sir....
me: ok...
student: ill do my best frm now 
me: try this
me: other method is to pick a current affairs material any one .. and then
spend 3 days full book... then 2 days one revision and 1 day one revision...
then....
take a day rest and
take each imprtant CA and do its background study from the subject it is connected to....
student: ok sir
now im getting into the flow fully
me: thus you will cover all importnt areas ...
student: yes sir.. thanks a lot sir
me: but make sure that u come back to the next CA aspect and
don sink in to the text book reading pages and pages...
read as much is the supporting information on the current issue/affair... got it???
student:from environment what kind of questions may come?? i mean recent issues??
me: u do ur regular prep and i will send from CA... well ahead a month before for ur prep...
student: yes sir... ill read wat is needed fm now
okk thankyou sir....
me: ok... keep me posted of ur progress... also help others, if possible...
do as many questions/ans from manuals as possible with ur prep the way suggested now...
One last question for today..
For practice of questions is it advisable that i buy the TMH / HITEC material..?
me: HITEC i havent seen.. TMH can b used for the marked Qs (imp ones or the yr is given)... Pearson can be used for the 2 papers of csat...
the key now is important Qns and then its relevant reading....
student: yes sir sure ill let u knw my progress frm this week
me: time isnt much left to 'Read all texts' now so change tact...
ANYHOW U R ALSO DOING ITS BACKGROUND STUDY WHILE DOING CURRENT AFFAIRS which is also covering parts of the text...
